When Donald Trump declared that Carrie Prejean will remain as Miss California USA, I applauded. He said that she had given an honest answer to a tough question and deserved the free speech rights we all enjoy as Americans. When she commented on her journey and reminded us all to learn from her experience, I was compelled to write in support. It's time for all Americans who love this country to take a stand for freedom. Yes, be civil but be strong.
I was only upset that when asked if he would accept the biased judge to next year's pageant, Donald Trump said yes! Any judge that will take any answer to one question and be so far away from the median score should not be invited back. As they do in Olympic judging, the high and the low should be thrown out to avoid any kind of bias. He should not be invited back to judge.
It's already clear that Carrie has had far more impact than the woman elected Miss America. Why? She was brave enough to risk losing to stand for her beliefs. May we do the same!
