The Obama Administration's War on the CIA Has Help from the ACLU

Some days you wakeup to headlines that you wish was just a nightmare. It's amazing that the CIA can even survive the latest assaults from the ACLU and the Obama administration. President Obama has praised the value of the Central Intelligence Administration, but the words don't match the deeds.

You have the Justice Department establishing a special council to look into CIA "torture" techniques--techniques that are known to have produced valuable information that thwarted terrorist plans. What the Church Commission started in the 70's when hundreds of CIA operatives were outed as a result of congressional oversight, is now being taken to a new level at a time we need them most.

Michelle Malkin, in another informative column (http://townhall.com/columnists/MichelleMalkin/2009/08/26/aclu_spying_for_americas_enemies) that strikes at the heart of the left's efforts to destroy America, chronicles the efforts of the ACLU to disclose the identity of CIA employees to known terrorists.

Who needs an enemy, when you have such citizens in our midst? The Wall Street Journal’s Daniel Henninger writes about the demise of our war on terror. It has been handed over to lawyers. It's the lawyers in Scotland that released and returned the convicted Lockerbie terrorist, Abdel Basset Ali Megrahi. Described as terminally ill with prostate cancer, the terrorist returned to approving crowds in Libya. To lawyers in America, it is the CIA and the military that is the accepted enemy and the terrorists who deserve compassion.

What do you call these travesties of justice? To me, it borders on treason!
